Longtime friends Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin look back on 30 years of filmmaking, from The Last Party, starring Robert Downey Jr., to SLAM, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and the Camera D'Or at Cannes. BLOWBACK and Benjamin Productions have also shared a fruitful three decade long collaboration with multiple Peabodys, Emmys and DuPont Columbias, just to name a few of the dozens of filmmaking awards they have received over the years.
Brick City TV LLC was formed in '09 to create the Peabody Award-winning and twice Emmy-nominated series Brick City for the Sundance Channel. The company is built on the partnership of Executive Producers, Mark Benjamin and Marc Levin. Benjamin was Levin's father's (distinguished non-fiction Producer, Al Levin) cameraman and a Bill Moyers Producer along with Marc Levin in the late '80s and '90s. They worked on eight America Undercover HBO documentaries, as well as numerous other productions over this time period.
Since the Brick City series, the company has produced several notable cable television series and specials, including BET’s two-hour election special on the Obama re-election campaign, entitled Second Coming?: Will Black America Decide the 2012 Election, pivot network's ten-episode docu-soap series, Jersey Strong, and CNN’s eight-hour docu-series, Chicagoland, produced by Brick City TV in conjunction with Robert Redford’s Sundance Productions.
Drawing from its founders’ roots in non-fiction documentary filmmaking, Brick City TV has established itself as an innovative resource for TV networks. The executive team at BCTV: Levin/Benjamin, Yoav Attias, Nick Burnett, Kara Rozansky and Dan Levin.
